This is a resource for business experiencing or anticipating closing or permanently laying off employees. Any individual who loses their job as a result of a permanent layoff or plant closure is considered to be a "dislocated worker". The American Job Center offers a wide range of services to dislocated workers. The AJC has an extensive network of service providers to assist your company's dislocated workers. It is important that you become aware of what services are available to these workers. Our primary objective is to inform you of the choices you have to help to assist your employees during this time of transition.
The American Job Center can assist businesses by providing resources to assist with recruiting, hiring, employing and retraining workers with disabilities. We can also offer assistance with determining reasonable accommodations in the workplace. The state-wide Disability Program Navigator
initiative and locally, Lower Shore Enterprises
are available to help with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and disability employment concerns.
